Hassan Gale was born and bred in Harlem, where he became a leader of the Black Panther movement. For his conscientious service to that cause, he served, as he says himself, serious prison time. Upon the recommendation of Eagles Founder Joe Roberts, Hassan was instrumental in creating a 13-Week Eagles program at Wallkill prison. He was a graduate of that first program. It ran for several years and Hassan attended every session. He has been back in society for ten years. He is our dedicated and active lead organizer, promoting and teaching Eagles programs. His smoky voice routinely graces our podcast series.
